Ponca Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma
TRIBAL OPIOID RESPONSE PROGRAM (TOR)

The Ponca Tribe Opioid/Stimulant/Alcohol Response Program is funded by a grant from the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration. Addiction is an issue that sometimes stays in the shadows, and many people struggle to ask for help. There may be many reasons why an individual reaches for substances, but there is hope for recovery and freedom!

This program emphasizes substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery support. Treatment includes transportation to detox, assistance getting into rehab, sober living, and aftercare services for recovery support. Trauma is at the root of most addictions, so all of our therapists are trained in trauma counseling, and it is a part of our case management (life needs), and peer recovery support.

We also offer Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for those that struggle with opioid addiction. Suboxone and Naltrexone are medications that address physical symptoms of opioid withdrawal. Naltrexone can also be used to decrease alcohol cravings. These medications along with counseling and case management (life needs) services give a holistic approach to freedom from opioids and alcohol. When we address the physical withdrawal symptoms with prescription medication, patients think more clearly to address their emotional, physical, spiritual needs.

The Behavioral Health team walks alongside patients with support and skills’ coaching every step of the way – helping build a solid foundation for a healthier life. We want to eliminate substance use within the Ponca Tribe! The program takes people from the chaos of addiction to lives that match their traditional values.
