Child support services

​Mission Statement:
"The Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma recognizes that both parents must provide support for their children. By providing a single agency under the Ponca Tribe for child support enforcement with strong leadership and direct accountability. Ponca children and families will prosper thereby increasing self-sufficiency and strengthening the integrity of the Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma."

- The Ponca Tribe child support office represents the best interests of children. The child support office does not represent the individual interest of either parent.

Services Provided:
  • Establishment of paternity for children 18 years old and under, including confidential genetic testing
  • Absent parent locator services for child support purposes
  • Establishment of child support orders
  • Modification of child support orders
  • Enforcement of child support orders
  • Collaboration with other tribal and state IV-D agencies in an effort to better serve children​

​Strategies:
  • Operate an efficient, child-centered program
  • Motivate parents to meet the financial and emotional needs of their children
  • Treat both the custodial and non-custodial parent/guardian equally and keep both parties informed
  • Provide proactive case management to ensure regular payments of support and to reduce the number of cases in arrearages
  • Protect the confidentiality of personal information provided to our office as required by law
  • Provide regular community outreach about child support and our program
  • Implement effective locate procedures

Eligible to Apply:
  • All Ponca Tribal members and members of the surrounding tribes
  • Employees of the Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma
  • Any parties that consent to the jurisdiction of the Ponca Tribal District Court or the surrounding Tribal or State Courts
  • Families with a divorce or child support order already in place who wish to transfer their existing case to our office
  • Person(s), whether or not residing within the jurisdiction of the Ponca Tribe, who are a party to a child support action
