The mission of the Ponca Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma Behavioral Health Program is to enhance the quality of life to individuals, families, and communities by providing counseling services with respect to human diversity and dignity that encourages growth and well-being. We offer a range of professional services for both individuals and families that can help you get through tough times and become a healthier person. We believe healthy people make healthy families, and healthy families make a healthy Tribe. Services Offered:
Jake Roberts, M.S., LPC - Director of Behavioral Health
I am Muscogee (Creek) & Cherokee. I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Oklahoma. I received my license in 2014 and I am also an approved LPC supervisor in the state of Oklahoma. I work with children (ages 10 or older), adolescents, and adults. I can provide individual/family counseling, alcohol and drug assessments, mental health evaluations, domestic violence risk assessments, substance abuse counseling, anger management and grief counseling. I have received specialized training in cognitive processing therapy (trauma focused) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Chronic Pain and Opioid use. Additionally, I am a certified facilitator of the Fatherhood is Sacred/Motherhood is Sacred program, Addressing Family Violence & Abuse program, Linking Generations by Strengthening Relationships program, and the Question, Persuade, and Refer Suicide Prevention Course.
Amy Oatman, MCP, LPC
I am licensed professional counselor in the state of Oklahoma. I received my license in 2011 and I am also an approved LPC supervisor in the state of Oklahoma. I work with children (8 years or older), adolescents, and adults. I can provide individual/family counseling, mental health evaluations, and anger management. I have received specialized training in Moral Reconation Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Crisis Intervention, and “Within my Reach” (Healthy Relationships Counseling).
Michael Degan, MCP, LADC, LPC
I am a licensed alcohol and drug counselor and a licensed professional counselor in the state of Oklahoma. I received my license in 2019. I work with children (8 years or older), adolescents, and adults. I can provide individual/family counseling, substance abuse counseling, alcohol and drug assessments, ADSAC/DUI assessments and anger management. I have also received specialized training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Chronic Pain and Opioid use.
Julie Clark, M.S., Ph.D.
I am licensed professional counselor candidate. I am currently under supervision by Jake Roberts. I work with children (12 years or older), adolescents, and adults. I can provide individual/family counseling, anger management, and trauma focused counseling. I have received specialized training in cognitive processing therapy (military sexual trauma/PTSD), dialectical behavior therapy, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and have been a group facilitator for a Batterer’s Intervention program. I also have educational and research experience with boarding school/historical trauma, eating disorders, and health in Native American communities.
