Ponca tribe of Indians of Oklahoma
NATIVE CONNECTIONS GRANT

The Ponca Tribe’s Native Connections grant aims to develop a comprehensive evidenced and culturally based prevention program to reduce substance abuse, suicide risk and suicide, the impact of trauma, and promote mental health among Ponca Tribal youth ages 10 years to 24 years through a sustained community effort based on the needs of individual, their family, community, and tribe.
 
Dr. Julie Clark, PhD, PLP - Project Director
Specialized training and certification for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex PTSD, including cultural/historical trauma, military trauma, sexual trauma, developmental trauma, and interpersonal trauma.
•      Specializes in creating culturally informed, personalized holistic multidisciplinary treatment plans
•      Specialized training in treatment of distressed eating, shame, and abandonment
•      Conducts therapy with individuals (ages 12 years and up), couples, families and groups
•      Specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
•      Certified Facilitator for Native American Fatherhood & Family Programs
•      Former Psychologist, Veteran’s Administration
•      Former Associate Clinical Professor, Oklahoma State University
•      Graduate of the Interdisciplinary Childhood Abuse and Neglect program

Renee’ Kemble, BS - Project Liaison
I am an enrolled member of the Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma. I am Buffalo Clan. I have five children and three grandchildren. My parents are Kenneth and the late Phyllis Brown Kemble, my paternal grandparents are the late Edmond and Rita Roy Kemble. My maternal grandmother was the late Bertha Cries For Ribs. Great grandparents were the late William “Bill” and Mary Horse Chief Eagle Kemble, Reuben and Rosanna Primeaux Roy, Solon and Lucy Blueback Cries For Ribs. Additionally, I am a certified facilitator of the Fatherhood is Sacred/Motherhood is Sacred program, and the Question, Persuade, and Refer Suicide Prevention Course.
