Head start Program

Picture
Ponca Tribe Head Start’s goal is to provide an environment that stimulates each child’s curiosity and learning. We encourage each child to develop his/her unique pattern of interest, talents, and skills. We know that children learn best through interaction with people and objects, and it is through play that they will achieve their educational goals. Head Start promotes the school readiness of young children from low-income families by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development. Head start recognizes that parents are the first and most important teachers of their children. We welcome parent involvement in program activities and we work as partners with parents to promote child progress.

We recognize that each child grows and develops at different rates; therefore, individual goals will focus on the following:
  1. Language development
  2. Literacy
  3. Mathematics
  4. Science
  5. Creative arts
  6. Social and emotional
  7. Approaches to learning
  8. Physical health and development
